What is Virtual Reality?
From Wikipedia:
"Virtual reality (VR) is a computer-generated scenario that simulates a realistic experience. The immersive environment can be similar to the real world in order to create a lifelike experience grounded in reality or sci-fi. Augmented reality systems may also be considered a form of VR that layers virtual information over a live camera feed into a headset, or through a smartphone or tablet device."
What does it feel like wearing the gear?
The headset tracks your head movement so that you feel like you are actually in another place.
Wearing the headset is a bit like wearing a scuba mask, with a similar field of view and weighs around 1.2 lbs (555 grams).
The handheld controllers are shaped like a ladle, and have a number of easy to use controls for manipulating virtual objects and interacting with the virtual space.
